This year for Christmas Corey and I bought a xbox360 as one of our gifts to each other. We got an awesome deal on it at a music store in the mall for 279.00 that included halo 3, kungfu panda, and Indiana Jones Leggo Games. It also came equipped with xbox live accessories and a wireless controller. Xbox Live and Netflix teamed up and because of this happy union we are able to save a lot of money on our cable bill. We created a netflix account for 8.99 a month and created an xbox live gold membership account for a yearly fee of 49.99. If you buy the xbox live membership on ebay you can save 10.00 (39.99) vs buying it from xbox.com for 49.99. We created a free trial for right now to see if we really like it. I think this is something we will really enjoy and Fiana is watching a wiggles movie on the TV right now as I type. The way it works is you stream netflix movies and TV shows from a wireless connection through your xbox360. You can stream movies and shows using your computer with a ethernet plug (free) or using a microsoft wireless adapter for the xbox (89-99$. We only watch the news, a couple of kid shows, and a few other shows on TV. Right now we pay around 130.00 for cable Digipic 1000 with DVR and Standard Internet with Time Warner. That price also includes movies we rent monthly through Time Warner as well for 3.99 for 24 hr access per movie. Since we discovered xboxlive and netflix we are going back to basic cable at 12.95 with standard Internet for 32.95. If you add the netflix for 8.99 and the xbox live which breaks down to 3.00 a month we are going to spend around 60.00 for cable, internet, and unlimited movies instead of 130.00!!! Which will save us 70.00 a month! We will lose the DVR which cost 10.00 extra a month with Time Warner but over all it will be worth the savings. We may look into using a TiVO instead which can also stream movies and TV shows from Netflix too! Netflix is compatible with other devices that they list on their website but xbox 360 is the only gaming system that is compatible as of right now.
