Christmas Lights on The Nuese River

Yesterday we decided to start a new family tradition. We wanted to do this as a family on Christmas eve but since we are going out of town this year we decided to do it earlier. I made a Christmas cake to celebrate the birth of Jesus and had Fiana open one small gift. She opened a children's book about the story of Christmas and the birth of Jesus. She recognized the baby in the pictures and the star the wisemen followed to find him. Other than that she only wanted to look at the pictures. We told her about the pictures and then we enjoyed some cake. After cake we headed to a farm in Clayton NC that hosts a hayride around their property to look at Christmas light displays. It was a very cold night and the line was very long but it was a lot of fun and Fiana really enjoyed the whole experience. She especially enjoyed the kettle corn and apple cider we gave her for a snack while we waited in line for an hour!
